Since 2005, Dan York has been writing on his "Disruptive Telephony" blog about the changes happening with VoIP and telecom and also authored the book "Seven Deadliest Unified Communications Attacks" and several other books on Linux and network technologies. Prior to joining the Internet Society in 2011 he worked for Voxeo on their hosted voice application platform and before that for Mitel Networks on a range of their IP-PBXs, handsets, SIP software and product security. He also served as Chair of the VoIP Security Alliance (VOIPSA) and has been involved with the real-time communications area of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) since the mid-2000s. A frequent speaker, writer and podcaster, Dan enjoys interacting with audiences and working with others to create an open, trusted Internet available to all.
